Well-written scholarly study of lyric poetry by three twentieth-century women poets. From Dickie’s introduction: “That these poets are lesbians is central to this study, because I believe that their desire to write love poems fueled their poetic experimentation.” The last three chapters examine Rich’s poetry up to and including An Atlas of the Difficult World.
