Creating the Book Jacket file:

  1. Open Photoshop
  2. Select ‘New’ under the Edit menu
  3. Set dimensions: Width: 470 px   Height: 450 px
  4. Select ‘Place’ under the Edit menu and click the book jacket file on your computer to Place it.
  5. Resize the book jacket to roughly to a Height of 427px
  6. Create another layer
  7. Draw a black box with a feather of 15px, approx. 80% the size of the book jacket (you can resize for other book jackets)
  8. Set the black box layer @60% opacity
  9. Drag layer so it falls behind the book jacket
  10. Shift+Option+Command+S will save as a web image.
  11. Alternately, use the PS files on Google Drive and ‘Place’ a new book jacket. The drop shadow is already there and can be resized as needed.

Width: 309 px  x Height: 420 px
